Video Trimmer & Cutter

Cut the exact part of a video you need — set a start and end point with a slider and export just that clip, in your browser.

About the Video Trimmer

Sometimes you don't need the whole video — just the 15 seconds in the middle, or everything after the boring intro. Our Video Trimmer lets you mark exactly where a clip starts and ends with a simple slider, then exports just that portion, without installing any desktop editing software.

The trim runs locally using ffmpeg.wasm and, whenever the format allows it, uses a fast "stream copy" operation instead of a full re-encode — meaning your trimmed clip keeps the exact original quality and the export finishes quickly. This is ideal for pulling a highlight out of a longer recording, cutting dead air from a screen recording, or preparing a shorter clip before running it through our Video to GIF or Video to MP3 tools.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything people ask before they download.

Does trimming re-encode the whole video?

Where possible we use a fast stream-copy cut, which is why trimming is usually much quicker than compressing. On some files the exact cut point may snap slightly to the nearest keyframe rather than the exact frame — for frame-precise cuts on tricky footage, results can vary by source format.

Can I trim more than one section from a video?

Currently the trimmer exports one continuous start-to-end clip per run. For multiple sections, trim and download one clip at a time.

Will the trimmed clip lose quality?

No re-encoding happens for most trims, so quality is preserved exactly from the source video.

How long can the video be?

There's no fixed cap, but very long or very high-resolution source files take longer to load into the browser preview and use more memory. For anything over a few GB, trim on a desktop browser rather than mobile.

Can I use this to shorten a video for Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts?

Yes — trim to under the platform's length limit, then use our Reel & Shorts Size Resizer if you also need to adjust the aspect ratio.
