Twitter (X) Video Downloader
Save videos and GIFs from Twitter (X) posts in MP4 format. Free, no login required.
About our Twitter / X downloader
X (formerly Twitter) doesn't offer a native "save video" option in its app, which is exactly why a downloader is useful — DownloadVideo fetches the video file directly from a public post's link, in MP4, without needing a screenshot or screen recording.
Paste the link to any public post containing a video, and we'll fetch the MP4 file directly. Note that anything X displays as a "GIF" is technically already a looping MP4 on their end (they convert every uploaded GIF to video for bandwidth reasons) — so a downloaded "GIF" from X will also be an MP4 file, not a classic animated .gif.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything people ask before they download.
Are "GIFs" on X actually GIF files?
No — X converts every GIF you upload into a looping, muted MP4 video for bandwidth efficiency, and serves it that way to every viewer. When you download a "GIF" from a post through us, you'll get that same looping MP4 file rather than a traditional animated .gif — if you specifically need a .gif file, our Video to GIF tool can convert it after download.
What's the maximum video length on X?
X's video length limits differ between free and paid (Premium) accounts, and the platform has changed these limits over time — we fetch whatever length the source video actually is, up to what X allows for that specific post.
Can I download every video from a thread at once?
Currently one video per link at a time — paste the specific post's link containing the video you want.
Does this work on quote tweets and retweets?
Yes, as long as you paste the link to the post that actually contains the video (the original post, or the quote-tweet post if the video was attached there directly).
What about posts with multiple videos or images attached?
We fetch the media from the post you link to; for posts with several attachments, support can vary by how the post is structured — if something doesn't come through, try linking directly to the specific media view.
Can I download from a protected/private account?
No. We only process public posts — private/protected account content isn't accessible through any download tool.
Is downloading X videos legal?
Saving a public video for personal, non-commercial use is generally accepted. Re-posting someone else's video as your own is a separate matter — credit the original poster if you re-share.
