Takedown policy, fair and fast.
If your work is appearing through DownloadVideo without authorisation, here is exactly how to ask for it to be removed.
Last updated: 4 June 2026
1. We respect creator rights
DownloadVideo acts as a thin proxy between your browser and source platforms (Instagram, YouTube, etc.). We do not host, store, or cache the videos themselves. Nonetheless, we take copyright concerns seriously and provide a clear takedown procedure consistent with the principles of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.
2. Before sending a notice
Because we do not host the content, please consider:
- If the content lives on Instagram/YouTube/etc., the most effective takedown is filing directly with that platform.
- Our service simply returns the existing public link from those platforms; we cannot remove content from the source.
- We can block specific URL patterns at our edge so they no longer resolve through our tool — that is what this takedown procedure achieves.
3. How to file a takedown notice
Send an email to dmca@downloadvideo.net.in containing all of the following:
- Your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- Identification of the copyrighted work. Provide the original URL on the source platform and, if possible, the copyright registration number.
- Identification of the infringing material. Provide the exact URL on DownloadVideo or the URL pattern that resolves through our service.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on behalf of the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
4. What happens after we receive a valid notice
- We acknowledge receipt within 48 hours.
- We block the specific URL or URL pattern from being processed by our service.
- If we determine the request is incomplete, we'll let you know what's missing.
- If the notice is abusive or fraudulent, we reserve the right to refuse it and inform relevant authorities.
5. Counter-notice
If you believe a takedown was filed in error, send a counter-notice to dmca@downloadvideo.net.in with:
- Identification of the URL that was blocked.
- Your full contact information.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the block was the result of a mistake or misidentification.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We will review and respond within 10 business days.
6. Repeat infringers
We may, in appropriate circumstances, block IP ranges or URL patterns associated with repeat infringement.
7. Misuse of this procedure
Filing a fraudulent or knowingly false takedown notice may expose you to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. We may forward fraudulent notices to the affected party and to relevant authorities.
