Does this work for Instagram Reels?
Yes. Reels, regular posts, carousel posts and IGTV videos are all supported. We grab the first frame (cover image) at the original size Instagram serves it.
Can I download from private accounts?
No. Only public accounts. We use the same OpenGraph meta tag that Instagram exposes publicly — private posts don't expose this.
Will the post owner know I saved their thumbnail?
No. We don't interact with your Instagram account — we just read the public post page. There is no notification to the creator.
Why am I getting a low-resolution image?
Instagram's OpenGraph thumbnail is what they serve to third-party embeds — usually 1080×1080 or similar. We can't pull a higher resolution than what Instagram exposes.
What about carousel posts (multiple images)?
